EVOLUTION OF CINEMATOGRAPHY
Many people know about cinematography, but most of the people don't know about the development of cinematography and evolution. The below information helps you to know about the history of cinematography.
Evolution time :- 1550-1895
About 1550 :
The CAMERA OBSCURA becomes known in Europe. It showed an illuminated object at the back side of a box. Camera obscura is the forerunner of the camera.
About 1700 :
"LATRENA MAGICA" or magic lantern comes into existence. By a source of light, pictures could be projected from glass slides. They are even now used to project transparancies.
About 1833 :
With a rotating disc of pictures (wheel of life) fading to each other, utilising persistence of vison showing a smooth action, becomes known.
1839 :
LOUIS JAQUES MANDE' DAGUERRE produces picture on silver coated copper plate for his shows in paris. He is considered the father of photography.
1872 :
EDWARD MUYBRIDGE photographs different phases of motion of a galloping horse. In 1879 through zooparax scope these were shown.
1887 :
'HANNIBAL GOODWIN' applies for patent for roll films, useful materials for film cameras and projections.
1880/90 :
RERE LEPRINCE AND WILLIAM FRIESE-GREENE construct cameras working with celluloid films, independently from each other.
1891 :
OTTOMAR ANSCHUTZ invents tachy scope and in 1894 succeeds in projections of series of photographs using muydridgs method.
1892 :
THOMAS ALVA EDISON presents KINETOSCOPE . It was a viewing cabinet by which one person could view a film at a time. He also produced many short films for his advice.
1894/95 :
LUMIERE BROTHERS construct and test their CINEMATOGRAPH - a camera and projector in one. In march 1895 they show their films before an audience.
