Colour correction vs colour grading

      Hello everyone, before we need to know the difference of colour correction and colour grading we must need to understand about them.


Colour correction :-

   Colour correction is a process used in lighting, photographs, for editing cinematography footages and also by some industries.

   In Film making colour correction is a important activity play role after film shooting by post production. It helps to make the footages to show more cinematic by adjusting some basic tools like brightness, exposure, contrast, sharpness, whites, blacks and shadows etc.

     For example : On the shooting spot cameraman shoot a shot on a morning in a good lighting condition as by the continuous shot he shoots at afternoon in a different lighting conditions, here the light changes, so here colour correction helps to match that lighting as same condition by the according editing software.

Colour grading :-

   Colour grading is a colour scheme it uses in Film making to convey the emotions to the audience subconsciously. It is also a process in Film industry done on post production for the entire movie. It totally gives a colour change in the movie or a scene to show the particular emotion by the colour. Each colour carry each emotions on film. In a movie or a scene the colour will be change by the situation.

     For example : In a movie or a scene if there is a horror scene the editors use a dark moody tone to convey the horror emotion either in a flash back scene the editors use black and white or a vintage unsaturated tone to convey the flash back to the audience subconsciously.

     Here, we know about colour correction and colour grading. The main difference of them is colour correction uses to make the footages in a proper light either colour grading uses to change the entire colour tone according to situation of the film to convey the emotion.
